Funnily enough, even though they’ve been providing us with sex toys for donkey’s years, the very first Chinese sex shop didn’t open until 1992, just 14 years ago. That was in Beijing. Today there are estimated to be around 2,000 of them there and scattered around the country are around 10,000 sex toy factories!
I wonder whether the Chinese use them much themselves? I mean, if there are that many factories — and Chinese factories are usually big — then a lot of people must be employed to make our latex friends. And I know from experience that if you spend too much time working with something, you quickly lose interest in it. Just as those who work at McDonalds!
