What is Swinging?
I’ve been writing this blog for about a year now and was initially surprised when I received and email from a lady asking me what swinging actually is. At first I thought it was a send up, but then I got to thinking about it. Maybe everybody doesn’t actually know what swinging is. If you’ve read the blog you’d probably have a good idea by now but if you’re new here, you may well be confused. So, if you’re one of those who finds him or herself in need of more information, here’s a quick run down of what swinging actually is.
Also known as “The Lifestyle”, swinging is about singles or couples having no-string sexual relationships with others. That’s it. It really is that simple. If you, either alone or with your partner, enjoy threesomes, partner swaps, group sex or similar, then you’re swingers.
Some swingers visit clubs that specialise in entertaining those looking to enjoy no-strings sex, some use contact ads to find other swingers to fulfil their fantasies with and some attend swingers parties. Some go dogging and some take swinging holidays. Some do several of the aforementioned activities and some do all of them. There are, in other words, no hard and fast rules.
Swinging isn’t for everybody – it never has been and never will be – but for those who enjoy sexual freedom, swinging is a way of fulfilling desires without having to get involved in committed relationships.
