If you can honestly say that you haven’t complained about the heat at least once during the past week or so, then you’re definitely in the minority.
It’s hot! There are no two ways about it. And what’s more, doctors have gone out with warnings that having sex in the kind of high summer temperatures we’re experiencing at the moment could actually be fatal.
Evidently, high temperatures increase our desire for sex but the backside of the coin is that they also increase the risk of heart attack.
Professor Norbert Bachl of Vienna’s Sport Medicine Institute has advised that couples refrain from sex when temperatures top 30 degrees but adds that it’s understandable that some couples will find it difficult to abstain and that they should at least try sticking to safer forms of sex.
So what exactly are safer forms of sex? Well, for one we should wait until temperatures drop during late evening or, if that’s not possible, get in the shower together and have nookie under cool, running water. Sticking to oral sex is also far safer than having a bunk up.
How those who live in hot countries manage, I really don’t know. What I do know is that I’m off to have a shower now. I’m just grateful we don’t have a water shortage problem in this part of the country!
