I knew it and now it’s proven! Women who live in secure relationships are likely to become bored with sex four years into the relationship. And this isn’t just speculation – it’s information gleaned by German researchers.
Funnily enough, this doesn’t apply to men. Their sex drive remained more or less the same throughout the relationship, regardless of its duration.
I suppose this explains why it’s women who most often suggest bringing a third person into the bedroom. Yes… it’s true. Most people believe that men are most likely to suggest that a couple try swinging but in my experience, it’s women who make the first move. Men who aren’t satisfied with one partner are more likely to take a second partner outside of the relationship. By that I mean, they’re more likely to be unfaithful rather than suggest swinging. Of course, that isn’t based on research, just my observations, but I’m sure I’ve known enough people who swing to be able to give a reasonably objective view of things.
The German research states that women are likely to lose their sex drives after being in a lengthy relationship but I don’t believe that’s the case. I think their sex drives are just as strong, they just yearn for more variation than they’re able to get from their partners.
Interesting, don’t you think?
