There’s absolutely no doubt that when it comes to men, porn films are at the top of their wish list and usually, the dirtier and more explicit the better. Women, on the other hand, generally like something a little more subtle.
Too many men make the mistake of thinking that if they put on a film showing a bunch of people bonking, the lady in their company will instantly be turned on and raring to go. Sadly, this is far from the truth.
When I recently asked a group of female friends what their favourite erotic scene was, these are the answers I got:
1. The Bit on The Stairs in “9 1/2 Weeks”
2. The Shower Scene in “American Werewolf in London”
3. The Piano Scene in “Pretty Woman”
4. The Pottery Scene in “Ghost”
5. The Dance Scene in Johnny’s Bedroom in “Dirty Dancing”
So there you see… it’s not about explicit sex, it’s about sexual tension. Women want to feel rather than see. We want to imagine what might come next… we want to be turned on along with the heroine in the film.
If you really want to get us in the mood for lurve, guys, put on one of the above films instead of something from your blue movie collection because, while I’m not saying that women don’t like porn, most of us would be pleasantly surprised to think you understood us well enough to give us some ‘real’ erotica
