Did you know that around 10% of all straight men have had sex with another guy?
I can’t say for sure whether or not this goes for British men because the survey was taken in New York, but I can’t imagine we’re that different, can you?
Evidently, of the over 4,000 men who were asked, those who identified themselves as straight but admitted to having had sex with another man were mostly members of minority racial or ethnic groups and had a low education level. 70% of them were married.
I find all this kind of thing fascinating. I mean, human sexuality is incredibly interesting but I’m probably more interested than most. Not because I’m a swinger but because I’m always wondering about what makes people do what they do.
What always surprises me is that so many women enjoy sex with other women while so few men appear to do the same. I honestly think that a lot of this is because they’re still afraid that having any kind of sexual contact with another man will automatically make them gay and that’s something they feel is ‘wrong’ (even though we all know really that there are no rights and wrongs when it comes to our sexuality).
Anyway, 10% surprised me. It just goes to show what men are willing to admit when they’re asked anonymously.
