A lot of straight people and a fair number of swingers look at those who enjoy the adult baby scene as being slightly weird. Why would anybody want to dress up in a nappy and be treated like a baby? And why would a woman enjoy forcing or persuading her partner to dress up in nappies, plastic pants and baby clothes? After all, there’s something pretty humiliating about the whole thing.
It just so happens that one of my closest friends and her husband are into the adult baby scene and she tells me that there are several reasons why couples enjoy it.
For many men, society’s demand for them to be masculine and ‘in control’ can be too much for them so by dressing as babies, they can regress back to a situation where everything was done for them and nothing was expected of them. There’s also a definite desire for masochism because they enjoy being spanked when they misbehave, especially if they dirty themselves. For some men, the ability to cry is more or less disabled in their ‘real’ lives but their baby lives give them the chance to release emotions they otherwise have to keep in check.
For many women, giving a man the chance to explore his sexuality and enjoy scenarios where they become somebody else — in this case a mother — keeps them from straying. The majority of adult babies are perfectly happy with their lives consisting of vanilla sex and the baby scenario and therefore have no reason to want more.
Then there’s the intimacy and trust. No couple can act out an adult baby scene without complete and total trust on both sides. If that’s in place, the levels of intimacy they can reach are far higher than for most couples who can’t even talk about their fantasies, let alone act them out together.
